Gracie – God’s Got It

Meet Gracie – a spunky, free spirited, third grade girl. She loves to play softball and nothing keeps her down for very long. She lives everyday to it’s fullest. She loves school, softball, and her friends. Gracie always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She knows that “God’s Got it”.

In 2010 Gracie was diagnosed with a Oligoastrocytoma brain tumor. After two surgeries and two years of weekly chemo it looked like things were going better even though they knew part of the tumor was still present. But in 2013 she began having seizures again. In March 2014 she had another surgery but worked hard at physical therapy and was right back to her normal self playing softball in no time. She was scheduled for a routine MRI to check on the tumor when they saw the horrific truth – a new spot had appeared. Just a few weeks ago this amazing young girl underwent her thrid brain surgery. Her surgery was a success and the doctor was even able to get a piece of the remaining tumor that is in the corpus collosum that she wasn’t able to get before. Gracie will continue with MRI’s every 3 months to check on the tumor.

After both battling for their lives, Gracie and her friend Maeci started an organization to give back to the community. Go to www.maeciandgraciegiveback.org for more information on their wonderful organization.
