Meet Adrian

Adrian was born full term but only weighed 3 pounds 7 ounces. He was diagnosed with microcephaly as well as a rare heart condition, Pulmonary Atresia with VSD. He needed surgery but none of the doctors would do it. He spent the first six weeks of his life in the NICU. His mom was told that he would likely never breathe on his own, would certainly never eat by mouth, or ever make it out of the hospital.

At three days old, he ripped his ventilator out and has been breathing on his own ever since. At three months, his mom gave him a bottle and he took right to it. At six weeks, Adrian was taken home on hospice and his mom was told that he wouldn’t make it two days.

Adrian sure showed those doctors! He defied all the odds and is proof that miracles do happen! He is now 8 months old, seven and a half pounds, and loves his bottles. Recent testing now shows that in addition to his heart abnormalities that he also has a type of primordial dwarfism. He is doing great developmentally – he is just really small.

Adrian will soon have a heart catheter put in and the doctors are now willing to do the surgery that they once said they couldn’t do.

Miracles happen every day. Believe in them!
